At Bouvardia Coffee, every roast tells a story—a story of passion, creativity, and an unwavering love for coffee. Our name, Bouvardia, comes from a genus of flowering plants in the Rubiaceae family, the same botanical family as coffee. Just like the Bouvardia plant symbolizes vitality and enthusiasm, we pour that same energy into every batch of coffee we craft.
Rooted in Tradition, Inspired by Legacy
Our story begins in Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee. Growing up, I was surrounded by the rich aroma of freshly roasted beans and the warmth of traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremonies. Coffee wasn’t just a beverage—it was a ritual, a reason to gather, a way to connect. It shaped how I saw community, culture, and care.
In 1992, my parents started a coffee roasting business, driven by entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for quality. We poured ourselves into it for over a decade. Although the business closed in 2002, the love for coffee remained—embedded in me like a seed waiting for the right season to bloom.
A Journey of Rediscovery and Reinvention
Years later, that seed began to grow again.
I felt a pull to return—not just to the craft of coffee but to my roots, my family’s legacy, and my own creative spark. I wanted to build something meaningful, grounded in the values I was raised with yet bold enough to explore what coffee could become.
And so, Bouvardia Coffee was born.
This brand is a tribute to heritage and a celebration of craftsmanship. We hand-select exceptional beans, roast in small batches, and take great care to bring out the best in each origin. Every cup we share is an invitation to connect—to slow down, to savor, and to appreciate the journey behind every bean.
